Educational Program
Like Home Early Learning Centre follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The EYLF provides the principle, practices and outcomes which are essential for young children, to support and enhance learning from birth to school age and for transitioning into prep. We believe that a balance between unplanned play experiences, guided experiences and intentional teaching experiences provides for the best learning environment for pre-prep children.

Kindergarten Room 3 -5 years
Our Bachelor Trained, Early Childhood Teacher delivers a Kindergarten Program, five days per week, as per the Queensland Education Curriculum. Our activities are often child led and developed around children's interests. Opportunites to develop Numeracy and Literacy skills for pre-school readiness are provided throughout the day with arts and crafts, music, cultural awareness experiences and science both indoors and outdoors. Role play assists children to understand and feel part of their community whilst unplanned experiences provide opportunites for social interactions. Educator to Child ratios in our Kindergarten Room are 1 Educator to 11 Children.
Toddler Room 15 months - 3 years
In our very busy toddler room, our Educators provide programs based on children's needs and developmental stages. Programs for our younger children 15months - 2 years, aim to develop new skills and provide opportunities to extend through exploration. Our goal is for children to feel secure and to build strong relationships with our families to create a smooth transiton for children between home and childcare. Educator to Child ratios within this age group are 1 Educator to 4 Children.
Our 2-3 years program will encourage exploration of new skills and independence. Social interactions with peers and broadening knowledge support positive self esteem. Educator to Child ratios within this age group are 1 Educator to 5 Children.
